Tarahumara (Mexico)

Rio Chico Team Report
March 2020

  • Roof Team: replaced shop roof with quality, new tin.
  • Pole Barn Team: (got about half the project done) pouring foundations, erecting pillars, and putting 1,000 lb. beams in place.
  • Paint Team: totally resealed the inside of the 20,000 gallon water tank that supplies water to our little farm at El Dos.
  • Basketball Camp Team: able to provide fun for the young ones and actual skill development for the older kids.
  • Retreat Team: spoke to about 40 church leaders on Biblical and practical subjects.
  • Children’s Team: took care of the retreat families’ children.
  • Orchard/Greenhouse Team: fertilized and painted the tree trunks (bug protection) as well as fertilized and prepared the soil beds for planting.
  • When there was lull in any of those activities we burned trash, made cookies, hauled manure to the orchard, dug sand out of the river bed for cement, repaired lots of things around the camp, organized the tool shed, etc.

There is a desire to return in August if possible. Please be in prayer about this matter and contact Jim Stumbo if you have interest in being part of such a team should it materialize.
